Maximilian Schmige

Maximilian Schmige is a cinematographer based out of Los Angeles. He grew up in Berlin Germany, Finland and the UK before moving to the USA. His work includes a variety of formats including fiction, television shows, documentary, and commercials. His resume includes the Saturn Award nominated sci-fi action-drama series Pandora on The CW, the award-winning documentary feature film Long Promised Road on Brian Wilson from The Beach Boys released by Universal Pictures, the TV show Drag Race Germany for Paramount Plus, as well as on shows about pop-icon Ricky Martin, country musician Toby Keith, Dolly Parton, hip hop artist Nelly, gospel singer Tamela Mann, and astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson. He photographed the award-winning commercial campaign for Nordic Track and music videos for top European artists such as several videos for Booba, which have garnered over 150 million views on YouTube. He received a Berlin Music Video Awards nomination for best cinematography, daytime emmy nomination and other festival nominations. He studied film history and film theory at UC Santa Barbara, where his interest in visual storytelling began. He later went on to receive his MFA in cinematography from the American Film Institute in Los Angeles.
